In the Umbrian scenary of green panoramas and medieval towns you'll find
the Alta Valle del Tevere (High Tiber river valley), a glimpse of paradise
adjoining Marche and Tucany regions. The Antica Residenza rises up in Città
di Castello (in Umbria near the northern border with Tuscany), right in
the heart of the Tiber valley (Umbria), in perfect harmony with the incredibly
beautiful surrounding area.
The old fifteenth century building that houses Antica Residenza is inside
the old town of Città di Castello, right beside the Duomo (Cathedral).
The building was originally used for accommodating the canons of the Cathedral:
the imposing doorways of the corridor, still allowing the access to the
Cathedral as they did in ancient times, are now witnessing this ancient
period.
The atmosphere of ancient times is still present throughout the residence,
which has remained intact thanks to the restoration works, done respecting
the original structure. Inside the building we can admire the doorways made
of pietra serena with ancient inscriptions, the lacunar ceilings and an
important fresco from the 1500's that reproduces the famous Crucifixion
by Raphael, today housed in the Louvre museum.
In this elegant relais and holiday house of Città di Castello some
interesting initiatives are organised on a periodical basis, such as chamber
music concerts and conferences. Every Easter morning guests are invited
to have breakfast and to taste the delicious typical Umbrian desserts.
The Holiday Apartments

a refrigerator, oven, pots, dishes, cutlery and everything that may be necessary
for an intimate lunch or dinner.

kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom.
Apartment Superior (2+2* persons): living room with a double sofa
bed, kitchenette or kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
Apartment Deluxe (4+2* persons): living room with a double sofa bed,
kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
Apartment Executive (6 persons): living room, a kitchen, three bedrooms
and a bathroom.
